Understand what your baby's brain needs
to be a strong and steady walker
so that you can feel confident you are giving your baby the best start possible.
Want to help your baby meet their milestones, stop worrying about their development, and find the parenting power you've been looking for?
I've got a spot with your name on it!
|
It is totally normal to want your child to meet their milestones on time,
or even a little early.
But that mindset may not actually be in the best interest of your baby's development and wellness.
The first year of life is the most important year of life, developmentally.
Babies form one million brain connections every second.
Instead of rushing to teach the next skill, this is a time to build the strongest foundation of skills possible for a bright life of upright movement and learning.
|
As the parent, you have a unique power to provide
the consistent daily input that lays that foundation.
But like you, I am frustrated by the lack of education regarding baby development and how to best support the natural unfolding of that process.
Advice from Google, baby gear marketing teams, or even members in online parenting groups are not the answer.

You already have the tools to powerfully enhance your baby's brain and motor health. I would love to be your expert guide and show you how to use them mindfully, step by step.
Let's take a little sneak peek into the course...
"I would highly recommend all new parents watch Austen’s course! I am a NICU nurse myself and am one month away from my baby’s due date, so learning about fostering my baby’s development is very important to me. Austen presented so many important and helpful topics that I hadn’t even considered, and I work with babies every single day. I am so glad that I completed the course before my baby’s arrival because I feel more prepared to engage him with activities that will stimulate and support all of his senses and provide him with developmentally appropriate toys and playtime. Another perk of taking this course before my baby was I was able to learn what baby gear items are needed and what are not. I learned so much about what toys to add to my baby registry and what things I should skip. My husband is also happy to return a few of the items that I learned are totally not necessary! Overall, I took so much away from this course, and I would definitely recommend it to all new parents! I am excited to reference back to the course many times as my baby grows and matures! Thank you so much Austen!"

This 3 hour course consists of 7 modules, broken down into short lessons designed to fit your busy schedule as a new parent. Each module includes video lessons, example videos, and downloadable PDF's.
Module 1: Movement
Learn why movement is essential for your baby's brain, and how to provide appropriate movement for your baby
Module 2: Interfere Less
Find out why we may want to take a step back and be a little less "hands on," how teaching your baby skills could actually be counterproductive, and how you can foster independence, autonomy, confidence, and skill mastery instead
Module 3: Nurture The Mini Milestones
Discover each little developmental step from uncurling to walking so you can tune into what your baby is working on and what is coming next. Learn play activities to support each step.
Module 4: Ditch The Baby Gear
Learn how to choose and use baby gear wisely and safely. Understand the full risk-benefit analysis of each so you can make informed and confident decisions.
Module 5: Facilitate Sensory Input
Find out how your baby's nervous system works, what sensory input is, and appropriate activities to provide the right inputs throughout the day to encourage healthy development.
Module 6: Use Routines
Discover how you can implement everything learned so far into your daily routines and mundane have-to's without adding more to your to-do list.
Module 7: Let Go
Learn the importance of letting go of stress, anxiety, and comparison, and how to find peace and joy instead.
*BONUS* Module 8: Warning Signs
Understand the signs of possible developmental disruption and when to seek a professional opinion or evaluation.
Parenting a developing baby can be extremely overwhelming and confusing. Especially for first time parents who don’t have much context yet, or for parents who have an older child with a developmental delay and want to do everything in their power to enhance their new baby’s wellness and reduce the chances of developmental disruption. This can lead to lots of late night Google searches, piecing together questionable advice from online groups, completely unnecessary anxiety, and developmentally inappropriate expectations. I do not want you to go through any of that! That is why I created MINDFUL Steps. To provide parents with a trusted source of critically important, much-needed, and commonly sought-after information, especially during those early months. To guide you through your baby's first year, teach stress-free ways to nurture your baby's innate abilities, curb your worries, and minimize the risk of a developmental delay. This course is unlike any I have seen, and I did my best to research what my colleagues have created. Instead of focusing on specific skills (though we will go through all of them in detail) and how to teach those skills, we will be focusing on how to tune into your baby and help them teach themselves, a skill that will positively change the entire trajectory of their life. My ultimate goal: for you to be a happy, informed, and confident parent of a thriving kiddo! |
"The MINDFUL Steps course is an excellent primer for fostering your baby's development. As I am parenting my newborn and learning with her, Austen's course is guiding us through milestones and giving real-life suggestions for facilitating growth. Each offering feels applicable and relevant to parents, as well as realistic for implementation! I'm grateful to be learning which things a baby really needs, from gear to play, as well as coming to understand the importance of the order of development of new skills to be process-focused, not outcome-based." -Rebecca N. "Hey Austen! Wanted to reach out and tell you I started your course and I’m LOVING IT!!! I’ve learned so much already and finding it so so helpful to prepare for motherhood. Thank you so much!" -Erin F. |
"This class has been very engaging and very practical for learning about child development! As a new mom, and as someone who’s worked in elementary education for almost ten years, it’s easy to try to read everything I can in hopes of giving my daughter the best learning environment possible! But the knowledge is never-ending and it can sometimes be very overwhelming. What I have liked most about the MINDFUL Steps class, and all of Austen’s content, is that it is practical and helps me not worry about every little detail. I feel like I have more tools to give my daughter a supportive learning environment. It’s really beautiful to see how children’s milestones build on one another, but also how it isn’t all linear!" -Taylor C. |
